Nordyke House Tour & Ice Cream Social

Saturday June 18, 2016 the Yerington Rotary Club will host an Ice Cream Social at the historic Nordyke House in Mason Valley.  The Nordyke House was built in 1905 by one of the original white settlers in Mason Valley.  A 1906 newspaper article describes it as “J. W. Wilson’s palatial home”.  It has been renovated and was recently added to the Nevada Historic Homes list.  In addition to the house tour, visitors will be treated to homemade ice cream with toppings.  A variety of flavors will be available including vanilla, rocky road, butter pecan, peach, strawberry and peppermint. 

The Nordyke house is located at 727 State Route 339 south of Yerington.  Tours and ice cream will be available from  1:00 to 4:00 on Saturday June 18.  Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the Nordyke house or from any Yerington Rotarian.
